Historic Shaw Rowhouse Wins John Russell Pope Award

We’re honored to share that Historic Shaw Rowhouse has received a John Russell Pope Award in the Residential Renovation category.

The awards are presented biannually by the Washington Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) and recognize work of exceptional merit by architects, designers, and artists throughout the region. This year’s jury included architect Michael Imber, landscape architect Doug Hoerr, and interior designer Sarah Magness.

“We approached this whole house renovation with three goals: to bring light deep into the house with windows, skylights and large openings between spaces; to use materials that are energy efficient and to develop an architectural language that echoes the era of the original house while creating special definitions,” said Principal and Co-Founder Joshua Hill.
