Rowhouse Reconceived Receives AIA Potomac Valley Special Recognition

12.20.21

Rowhouse Reconceived has received Special Recognition in the Small Projects category from AIA Potomac Valley.

“This is a very nice project and a great renovation story. I like that in lieu of demolition, the owner and architect opted to work with the existing historic structure, breathing new life into it,” the jury noted.

This project was a renovation of an 1890s Victorian rowhouse in DC’s Bloomingdale neighborhood. The main objectives were to transform the enclosed porch and kitchen into a more useful living space and connect the home to the outdoors. We were able to open the rear of the home, add larger windows to bring in more light, and relate the rear façade to the existing Victorian structure. Thank you to the AIA jury for the recognition, and to our wonderful clients and collaborators.
