A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the University of Maryland, Eric grew up in South Bend, Indiana, where his interest in architecture was influenced by the imprint of the city’s social and industrial history on its built environment. As a lifelong student of material culture and architectural history, Eric finds inspiration in both traditional and modern design principles as well as building craft and construction techniques. In addition to Hill & Hurtt Architects, Eric has served as an adjunct faculty member and frequent guest reviewer at the University of Maryland’s School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. Eric resides with his wife in University Park, Maryland and is active in the local music scene.
